Pretty sure this is the same book republished in the USA by Watson-Guptill as "The Calligraphy Bible" http://www.amazon.com/Calligraphy-Bible-Complete-Essential-Techniques/dp/0823099342/ - just with a different cover.If the original publisher (or author) reads this, I would make a few suggestions: Remove the wasted space on the Workbook pages - no calligrapher would write in a book like this - the ink would just run! Remove all the white space and the exemplars in the Workbook pages could fit on two pages easily. Also, the broad-pen examplar "nib widths" should match a known nib size (say, like Speedball C-2) so we could trace them.
In the earlier sections, where there is one chapter per hand, I really like the two-page spread for the Variations. But putting 4 variations on a page means that each one is really too small to be useful. (I might try to scan them and blow them up.) Would much rather see two on a page in a larger size. In fact, the original examplar on the chapter's opening page could be made bigger if it was moved to the facing page. As it is, the eye-candy "example" is larger than the more-useful exemplar itself.
Otherwise, really nice looking book. Looking forward to reading it in detail.
